If you are New to Square Dancing, Welcome!

As the Cascade Crossfires, we specialize in insuring teaching people who already know Mainstream square dancing the moves in the Plus square dance program. However the Crossfires belong to an umbrella organization called the Mount Baker Square Dance Council which has many clubs that specialize in teaching/dancing the Mainstream program. You will want to go to lessons associated with on of those clubs.

As you can see by clicking the Mount Baker Square Dance Council site. there are about a dozen clubs in the area. Most of them dance/teach Mainstream. Most of them start their lessons in the fall (September or October), although some (e.g. Square Crows) start in January. Lessons last a few months but lessons are not that different than ‘just dancing’ so don’t let the time it takes stop you. Just come to to the first lesson and see how much fun it is.

The decision on which club to take lessons with mostly depends on logistic factors like which is physically closer and whether the night they have lessons works for you. If you just want one to picked for you, we can say that the Dudes and Dolls club happens to dance at the Cedar Valley Grange which is where the CrossFires dance as well. Thus If the CrossFires were convenient to get to, then the Dudes and Dolls would be as well.
